Our Story

How it all began — over 30 years of passion for poultry

Home Our Story

From coincidence to a family farm

What began with four broiler chickens in a hamster cage is today a thriving family business in the heart of the Bavarian Forest. Here we tell our story.

A reading competition changes everything

It all started on 24 May 1993, when Sebastian won a reading competition. As a reward, his grandfather Ludwig Piser gave him four broiler chickens. The first animals moved into a hamster cage — but it quickly became clear: that was far too small!

We promptly moved the chickens into our former calf pens, and the little flock felt right at home. Over time, more and more feathered friends joined them — our farm grew and grew.

Alois & Sieglinde — The founders

In 1985, Alois and Sieglinde Pauli took over the farm with dairy cows. But milk production wasn't profitable — in 1990 the decision was made: the cows had to go.

Both were still fully employed — Alois as an agricultural mechanic, Sieglinde as a nurse. Alongside their main jobs they kept poultry as a hobby, until 1996 when the first laying hen barn opened. Necessity became virtue, and a hobby became a full-time business.

Sebastian & Anna — The next generation

Sebastian was enthusiastically involved from an early age. After his Abitur he studied agricultural science at TU Munich in Weihenstephan and completed his doctorate on the digitalisation of transport processes in 2015.

During his studies he met his Anna — who has been responsible for the egg business for many years. She sorts, packs and delivers a large part of our eggs to regional partners. Sebastian takes care of noodle production and office work.

Veronika — The heart and soul of the farm

Veronika, daughter of Alois & Sieglinde, has pitched in diligently since childhood. After a dual-study programme as a retail specialist at REWE and managing a store until 2015, she returned to the farm.

Since then she has been an important pillar of the business — and spoils us every day as "head of our farm canteen". A family that works, laughs and enjoys life together: that is the Pauli Poultry Farm.

Our Animals

When raising our animals, we place special emphasis on species-appropriate housing, clean barns through daily mucking out, and balanced, GMO-free feeding with our own farm-grown grain mixtures. Every animal in the flock is important to us.
